Most women wear their TAB Bra from the beginning and they love it forever. Some women may experience some concerns. Here are some frequently asked questions.
Q: Does the TAB bra have to fit this firm around the midriff?
A: Yes. The TAB bra should fit firmly enough around your midriff so that there is no movement that results in the back of the bra moving up the back or the front of the bra coming up when you raise your hands above your head. If you have these symptoms of movement, you have been fitted too loosely and you may find the bra uncomfortable. The secret to the comfort of the bra is that it is fitted firmly around the midriff so there is no longer any movement and therefore no rubbing and irritation.
Q: I find I am quite “perky” looking in my TAB bra. Am I positioned in the correct place?
A: Yes, the apex of your breast should be half-way between your shoulder and your elbow. When you are positioned half-way, proper circulation, lymphatic drainage, correct posture and deeper breathing can happen. You may take up to six weeks to adjust to your new look; then any other position will look and feel abnormal. Please be patient and get used to your new healthy and youthful look!
Q: The TAB bra is rolling under in the front and is uncomfortable.
A: This is caused by one of two things: The bra is fitted too loosely and is riding up in the back and rolling under in the front OR the bra straps are too loose and the bra is hanging down off the shoulders instead of being pulled up and the weight is being shifted back off the shoulders. Check the tightness of the fit or the tension of your straps to fix this problem.
Q: I am getting some wrinkling in the cup.
A: This indicates that the TAB bra was fitted too large or the straps were lowered and this will cause the fit in the bra cups to shift and leave wrinkles.
Q: I am experiencing itchiness as I wear the TAB bra. Am I allergic to the fabric?
A: Generally, the itchiness is caused by the fact that the circulation in your breasts has increased dramatically. Remember, your breast tissue is being redirected and the increased support helps to stimulate circulation and lymphatic drainage. The itchiness should not last more than two to three weeks. If you experience a tingling or itchy sensation, this is a very healthy sign. If you want, you can apply a lotion or cream to your breasts when you take the bra off to soothe the sensation.
Q: When I wear the bra, I find that I get very fatigued in my shoulders or my back and rib area.
A: Again, this is a good sign! Your body is in training and everything is realigning which may cause fatigue. When you start to experience fatigue, you can take the TAB bra off and switch to another bra. Continue to wear the TAB bra as long as you can each day, you will start to experience a shift in your posture and a gradual relief of shoulder and back pain.
Q: Do I have to redirect and manipulate my breast tissue through the triangular holders in the TAB bra each day?
A: Absolutely! When you take a moment to make sure that all the breast tissue is forward and pulled in from under the arm you are retraining this “wayward” tissue to come back to where it was meant to be. This will increase circulation, lympathic drainage and best of all, will reshape your breasts over time. Be diligent each day, your patience will pay off!
Q: I find that I breathe differently when I have the TAB bra on?
A: Yes. Many women experience a totally different way of breathing when they have the TAB bra on and some even experience a bit of light headiness. The bra lifts the weight and the pressure off the breasts and off the diaphragm. This allows for easier and more efficient breathing and better airflow. The cotton straps on the TAB Bra help to gently pull the shoulders back and open up the chest area to allow a freer airflow as well.
Q: Does the TAB bra work well as a sports bra?
A: Absolutely! The TAB Bra is one of the best sports bras available on the market. It’s “no bounce” factor is due to the fact that the TAB bra is made without any elastic in the bra or in the straps. It is fitted firmly to the body. It also helps to open up our breathing capacity and therefore helps in all of our physical training and activities.
Q: Could the TAB bra work well for a mastectomy client?
A: The TAB bra is very comfortable for mastectomy clients. The prosthetic can be inserted easily into the pocket or the triangular directional guide and because there is no elastic, the weight of the prosthetic does not stretch out the bra and the straps. This helps improve posture and eliminates much of the shifting of the prosthetic in the bra. Check out our new offering: The TAB Pocket Bra.
Q: What is the best way to care for my TAB bra?
A: To guarantee the best wear and long life of your new TAB bra, hand wash it in warm water using a very soft, liquid cleaner such as Forever New or Zero; rinse it; then roll your bra in a towel to remove the excess water; and then hang the bra with the shelving up exposed to the air for most rapid drying.
